Brynja Lóa hired as SFHR Labour and Industry Affairs Representative
At the beginning of the school year, SFHR and Viska - union signed a new cooperation agreement. As part of the agreement, a new position for a Labour and Industry Affairs representative was established at the SFHR office. The recruitment process was completed in early August, and Brynja Lóa Bjarnþórsdóttir was appointed to the position.
Brynja is a second year Computer Science student at Reykjavík University and also serves as President of Sys/tur, the interest group for women and non-binary students within RU’s Department of Computer Science. She will work closely with the SFHR office and board, as well as with Viska, to increase RU students’ knowledge of employment terms and workplace rights. She will also work to strengthen connections between students and the labour market.
The Labour and Industry Affairs Representative will provide students with advice and offer open consultation hours throughout the schoolyear. In addition, Brynja will organize various events aimed at connecting RU students with employers and the wider business community.
